Arguably the most beautiful atoll in the Cook Islands, Manihiki comprises 40 tiny islets encircling the 2½ mile (4 km) wide lagoon, famous for its black pearls. Air Rarotonga flies regularly to Manihiki from Rarotonga with a brief stop at Aitutaki. Flight time is nearly 3¾ hours.
